Even if your colleague is a challenge, they may be going through difficult situations or facing something they don't like so much. Show compassion as you get to know your co-workers, and you may find that you would respond in the same way if you were in their situation. The hiring manager asks this question in the interview because he wants to hear you say that he will take positive steps to improve the working relationship with the difficult co-worker.
Companies prefer to hear a couple of their strengths rather than a list of 10 vague ideas that barely demonstrate the relevance of their background. One way in which my previous role would be relevant here is through my direct sales work to large companies.
